We’re entering an age when our decisions have global implications on the human time scale, measured in years rather than decades or centuries. Corporations, and individuals as a collective, wield a tremendous power; our will, manifested through our decisions and actions, amplified by technology.

Wielding such a power doesn’t have to be a problem if we’re thoughtful about how we use it. So far, though, we’ve not put enough effort into carefully anticipating the effects of our decisions, and now we’re beginning to wake up to the consequences. That’s what the new “green” revolution is supposed to be about, even if for many of us it sometimes feels like another marketing campaign.

Finding a better way to live is a complex problem with no clear answers, and while buying compact fluorescent bulbs and composting food scraps do make a difference, they don’t drive the kinds of changes necessary to match the increasing speed of global ecological and economic disruption.

Ecotechnology.com was created to gather and share thoughtful insights, knowledge and tools to create a constructive vision of the future. With this common vision, we will more clearly manifest the future we desire by slowly changing the way the world works at it’s foundations. But changes will only happen if we reexamine how we see and act in everyday life, and fundamentally reconstruct the policies, laws, technologies and economics that drive our civilization.

We are no longer the children of Earth, living in the womb without a care. We are now powerful partners in a relationship with Nature. We all need to think and act with greater awareness and thoughtful purpose.
